In collaboration with teaching/support staff the librarians can develop lessons (anything from 15 mins to an hour) that fit the context of your students' research topics. Examples include

We can put together a box of non fiction books (from both our library and National Library) and these can be taken to classrooms or used in library.

- Getting the most from Google - search strategies, useful go-to sites
- Tips to avoiding plagiarism - includes how to use REFME, google docs bibliography (fantastically easy) make your own livebinder, how to find free images using creative commons and flickr, activities in rewriting in your own words
- Search Strategies - for example Year 8 Focus on research - Exploring Disasters
- Other - Assessing Websites, Senior Search Strategies and other aspects of research

Librarians are happy to work with teachers and identify books and other resources to support their students' literacy and enjoyment of reading. We do this in the classroom or the library:

- Book boxes to classrooms.
- Book promotions - combination of book trailers and books highlighting different genre
- Geronimo Club - for year 7/8. Selection of books for reluctant readers.
- "Don't judge a book by its cover" Like a blind date with a book - they are covered - aim is to encourage reading of different genre.
- Book club meets twice a term
- Books purchased through student/staff suggestions
