This is a fabulous New Zealand resource staffed by librarians to help you search online for the information you need. So how does it work?  You can use their search box "Many Answers" to find a list of websites for your topic
or
Live chat with a librarian between 10am and 6pm Monday - Friday; tell them what you are searching for, which subject it is for etc, and they will search the internet with you for relevant and trusted websites, they will even email you a list of websites they found so that you don't have to remember them all

Te Ara – The Encyclopedia of New Zealand offers many pathways to understanding New Zealand. It is a comprehensive guide to the country’s peoples, natural environment, history, culture, economy, institutions and society.
This is an excellent site to find information on any aspect of NZ, past and present.

​Schools Encyclopaedia Britannica can be a good place to get an overview of your topic at the beginning of your research.  Instead of searchin​g through masses of websites, you can find reliable, up to date information for many topics at different reading levels. It has lots of features including 'Web's best sites'

​EPIC RESOURCES​

The resources here cover all curriculum areas and information from around the world. Because you are accessing EPIC from home then you will need to use a password- this is only available to students and staff at DHS and can be found here. ​
If you want to access any of these databases click on the image to get to the EPIC page, scroll down and select a resource and you will be asked for our EPIC school login. Once you are logged in, you can go to all websites. 

EPIC Discovery is a tool that enables you to search across most of the e-resource collections as well as Digital NZ,  Index New Zealand and PapersPast in ONE single search.
